A Girl’s Friends

When a girl’s boy friend or the liquor gets her into shit, there is only one person who will stand by her testimony, and will not judge her for what she has done, her Best Friend. The Best Friend has been with her, through her highs and her lows, knows and loves both, the worst and the best in her.  She loves her just the way she is!

My BF shouts on me when I have had the nerve to do something absolutely stupid and absurd, but somehow her shouting on me does not sound as bad as my parents shouting on me, and she makes more sense anyway..!!

But your best girl friend can’t always be there. Let’s face it…sometimes she’s been in utter shit too….that is when you are the “enlightened” one….! That is why a girl always needs a couple of other “essential” friends too…! Here is a list of some girl friends that I feel should always be there on every girl’s close friends list…!

The Virtuous Friend

This is the god fearing friend, who believes that it was God who made the Big bang happen and that god will fix everything when the time is right! She always sees the good side of everyone.

This is an essential friend, because when you loose your faith in the world, your Virtuous friend is the one who comes to your rescue by making you believe in the power of the almighty again and that feel things will get fixed magically when the time is right…!

The Crazy Friend

Contrary to the one above, this is the absolutely crazy, wild, out going……..(etc etc) friend who is always ready to try something new…! You will hear the most outrageous things from her. She is an extrovert with a love for simple and yet not so simple things. She has wild and sometimes notorious fantasies. She is open minded person who believes that the world is a huge party place and does not restrict her thinking to the paradigms of the society. She will not pay much attention to the silly upsetting things around her as long as her world is not being disrupted.

This is the friend to turn to, on a lonely day when you are low, and want to have a little fun. The crazy friend will teach you how to love life in every breath that you take!

The Controversy Girl Friend

She is the friend who always seems to be dealing with some kind of mishappenings either due to other bitchy girls or some sort of misunderstandings. She keeps her dignity in dealing with these problems. The controversies have made her smart and confident. She does not hesitate to speak he mind.

The Controversy Girl teaches us how to stand up for ourselves and that we shouldn’t let others take us for granted!

The Funny Friend

This one is my favourite! She will make the most serious of the things look so hilarious. Funny expressions and theories are her trademark nature. She too looks at things in a positive way. She is fierce and witty and her one liners’ can shut any one up..!

For a dose of good laughter, this is the friend to turn to. She teaches you how to appreciate simple things in life and adds humour to ones life. When you meet some annoying people who just refuse to stop with their annoying tattle tales, a few lessons can be taken from your funny friend, to make them shut up without being too rude…!

The Gossip Girl Friend

This is the friend buzzing with the latest gossip in town, or in college or any where! She is like the broadcast media!

Let’s face it, women and gossip are like Blackberry and the Blackberry Messenger..! Though not to be trusted with intimate details of your life, this friend is nevertheless is fun to hang around with, especially when you have had a fight with someone or you have just been treated like crap, this is the friend that will help you take out all your frustrations..!

The Older Friend

This is the friend who is just a few years older to you and is just as fabulous. She has passed out college, is gorgeous, has a great job and is dating or engaged/married to the man of her dreams…!

The older friend gives you advice on things. Tells you how to deal with parents when there is a fight due to generation gaps. She will not be present always, but will be there, just when you need her..!

The Cool Mom Friend

Lastly, this is an “Aunty” friend, who seems to be way too cooler than your own mom…! She is young at heart, wears pretty clothes and bakes great cakes…!

She will explain you things that your parents try to, from your own point of view! Some how listening just one of her lectures makes more sense than all of your parents’ lectures…! But then again, this is not the friend you tell EVERY THING…!

So that was my list of a few essential ‘girl” friends on my list. Offcourse, there are other friends too, but I have a friend from each of the categories mentioned above, and I can’t even begin to imagine just how much of a role they play in my life..!

P.S. My best friend is a combination of all of the above friends with an exception to, offcourse the “Cool Mom” friend…! :P

One cold evening in Mussoorie....

It was one of those cold evenings in Mussoorie. I finished school by four o clock and rushed home through the cold. Winters are severe here.

It was the last week of December and also the last week of school. We always had a winter break of almost three months as getting out of the house  for these three months was next to impossible due to the terribly low temperatures. As a second grade student i did not have much to study unlike my seniors who sat through the cold December nights studying for their approaching exams. Oh..!! Boy..!!! How nice it is to be a second grader....???My mother used to teach at my school, therefore most of the teachers knew me quite well, hence the last week meant meeting all of them and wishing them happy holidays. One of my mother’s friends Sangeetha Aunty was going to be coming over for dinner. Sangeetha Aunty was a senior school teacher and was very fond of me. Her arrival meant a box full of my favourite butter candies which were specially bought at TheTrishul Bakery in Dehra Dun. I was looking forward to meeting her at dinner. She came at around seven-thirty. She chatted with my mother for some time while I enjoyed my candies..!!After sometime we all settled at the dinner table.

Mussoorie, situated in the dense forests of the Himalayas, is one of the most beautiful hill stations' in northern India but alas! Its beauty, like all other hills has been invaded by commercialization. Due to extensive deforestation for commercial use, the animals have been forced out of their habitat to enter villages and towns. While walking down any road, one needs to be very careful in Mussoorie, you might just come across a Cobra or if its an unlucky day maybe a Viper. I have often come across many small snakes while walking back from school, but these snakes were harmless. Allot of other animals like the big cats too have been forced to move out of their habitat. Just imagine

While walking on a lonely road by the forest, sighting wild animals, even to the extent of big cats, it’s really no surprise. But then of course it is really not advisable to walk down such lonely lanes, at least without protection..!

After we finished dinner, we all had a nice cup of my mother's wonderfull coffee. In the winters, a nice cup of aromatic coffee is welcome at any hour of the day. Sangeetha Aunty lived at the other end of the school. Chatting, all three of us lost track of time, it was ten-thirty and ma'am decided that it was time for her to leave. My mother and I also walked out with her to drop her till her car which was parked outside the gate which was a good about a hundred feet away. As we moved out of the house, my mother heard the phone ring, she rushed in thinking that it must be my father..

I nevertheless walked along with ma'am. We reached the gate and aunty asked me to stay within the boundaries. I looked on as she drove. The gates were still open, and as I started moving towards my house I sensed a movement outside the gate. My heart skipped a heart beat. I knew that the movement was not the rustle of the leaves nor was it a car nor was it the wind. I turned around and saw a pair of sparkling green eyes in the light of the watchman's torch. I heard the two watchmen shout at the Leopard. Scaring it away with their lathis. If I was not mistaken, one of them had a shotgun, which he fired without any hesitation, aiming not at the leopard but a few yards away from it. Just then the beautiful cat leaped into the valley. My mother came running towards me fearing that something had happened to me. Once she realized that I was safe, she took me back home.

I was awed by the sight of the leopard. The last thing that I saw in its eyes, before it plunged into the deep valley, was Fear. An animal known for its fierceness and ruthlessness, had joined the other brigade of animals, who were facing the consequences of different human activities which included deforestation etc. Many of these animals are close to extinction. As I slowly trudged back home, my heart filled with pity for the leopard. An animal as beautiful as it, was not only haunted by the evil commercial activities but was also a prey to the poachers who traded their skin for a mere small amount of money. I know that saying a small amount of money is wrong, leopard skins are traded for lakhs of rupees, but it is a very small amount when compared to the loss of one of god's most beautiful creations. They deserve to live. Actually they have equal rights to live on this earth as we do. Their homes are lost, they are now homeless. What else can they do….but too move around and look for food. But if they are found in any residential area or rather near a human, they are either shot or immediately taken to the zoos. Why don't we follow the universal philosophy of live and let live...??? If we cannot let them live in peace, how can they let us live in peace..?? It is, after all the law of nature, isn't it..

Out of the Blue..!!

P.S: This was just a flow of thought on one of those days when my mind is experiencing a “random wave” as I like to call it…! :D

I know this comes at the end, but I just had to place it here before anyone read the following post!

I love you; won’t you tell me your name?

And this is what they randomly send you an inbox message on Facebook. Idiots, can’t they see the name and how can they just fall in “love” with you..? Sometimes Facebook just seems to be a rescue for people of the HUTJs category (Highly Unmotivated Totally Jobless). Some of then can get so cheeky. I mean WHAT is it with these people..? They just see a girl’s profile and think that she is just going to “fall” for them? So random!

Talking of random, my friend says that the crow couldn’t find its feathers, so it flew up the magic mountain! How could it do that if it couldn’t find its feathers..??

White Roses

Is white a boring colour? Many think it’s a colour of purity or peace. My friend bought his girlfriend white roses after they had a fight for signifying that he WANTS peace! I don’t like white roses. I like yellow ones. They are more the “sunshiny” types. I like nice, bright, beautiful things…who doesn’t…??? Yes I know someone who doesn’t, but I also think that he is a very boring person!

These days I’m meeting so many boring people!! They just talk of ONE thing! And why are they interested in your personal life when you are not even remotely related them?

Boring? My college is so boring. We do not do anything in class. Why do they even call us..? Idiots.

Deliciously Complicated

Watched Sherlock Holmes today. Brilliant movie. I loved this phrase that Mr. Holmes used…Deliciously Complicated..! Ah….what a perfect way to explain an interesting controversy! Thinking about it…it’s been long since I have encountered some “deliciously complicated” things.

Oh and I also realized that I share my birthday with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

These days the Railway lines seem to be drawing a lot of my attention.

The Freak

Some guys never grow up, do they? They always remain Mamma’s boys and are so immature. They need to think THRICE before making a decision, thus making every thing so complicated. Plus some of them have such high opinions about themselves, that it is just impossible to explain rationality to their irrational minds. What does that make them? Freaks…!

I have a friend who I think is a “Freak”, and no I don’t hate him, I just choose not to talk to him. I love him (as a good friend) but I just can’t stand listening to his utter irrational theories and make sense out of them!

OK that is enough of randomness for the day, this flow of thought just doesn't stop.
Crap, I need to sleep.
Good Night.. :)
